SIGN INSTALLER APPRENTICE POSITION SUMMARY:

Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a premier full-service sign company that has been serving Arizona and National Accounts for 60 years. We have an immediate opening for a full-time, Sign Installer, preferably with a CDL class B. This is an installation apprenticeship and requires a flexible schedule, nights, and the ability for occasional in-state travel. We are looking for a dependable, flexible, quality-minded, team-player who has the desire to learn and grow. Should have some background and familiarity working with tools, electrical/wiring, welding, etc. Comfortable working in tight spaces and in situations with heights. SIGN INSTALLER APPRENTICE DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

Duties will include installing pole signs, monument signs, LED and neon channel letters.
Previous sign installation experience is preferred but not a requirement.
We are willing to train the right candidate.
Have welding skills and electrical knowledge.
Be able to work in tight spaces (e.g., climb, crawl) and okay with heights to make sign installations, repairs, etc.
Crane Operators License, CDL and Welding Certification is a plus.
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for at least 5 years; 5-year MVR history is required.
This is for a fulltime position, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends.
Must be available to travel out of town within the state (Company pays for overnight hotel stays and offers per diem for company related travel).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be comfortable with heights and working in small spaces.
Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs unassisted, 75-100 lbs with assistance.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks.
Must be able to work on elevated surfaces in a bucket while properly harnessed.
Must have full range of motion [ROM] of arms and legs.
Hearing must be sufficient to be able to hear warnings and alarms and normal conversation.
Must obtain a DOT medical certification.
Must be able to withstand outdoor Arizona temperatures more than 100 degrees with proper hydration.

We specialize in both the fabrication and installation of custom signs. We are a full production facility, well-equipped with expert design staff and top-notch sign permitting services for convenience. Our products and services include plex and vinyl, neon sign, metal sign fabrication, spray painting along with sign installation and service.

Where We've Been

Bootz & Duke Sign Company was small at first, specializing mostly in hand lettering and painted signs. Over the course of the next 10 years, Bootz & Duke Sign Company successfully grew into a full-service sign company.

1964: Founded by Charlie Bootz and Jim Duke

1978: Jim Duke retired and his son Jeff Duke took over partial ownership with Charlie Bootz and his wife Nellie Bootz.

2006: Charlie Bootz and Nellie Bootz retire. Bill Gibson and Cindy Gibson step in as the new owners. Joining them is Andy Gibson as President and Charlie Gibson as Vice President-- along with many devoted Bootz and Dukes employees.
